IP (Internet Protocol) cameras are based on Ethernet technologies meaning that they can co-exist on your existing computer network taking advantage of your current infrastructure or co-exist on a separate network.

Utilizing Ethernet technologies have several advantages:

  1. Flexibility – cameras can be wired or wireless meaning they can be positioned almost anywhere. With the wide range of models available including thermal imaging, dome cameras, small form factor and pan-tilt-zoom, almost every scenario is covered.
  2. Scalable – Adding additional cameras is as simple as connecting into a network point or a wireless network. No wires to run, no costly installation charges.
  3. Reliable – taking advantage of networking principles, the cameras can have multiple connections to the network allowing the cameras to continue running following equipment failure.
  4. Security – all cameras can be protected using passwords and user access control.

With these IP cameras, Gardner Systems can give the ability for controlling and viewing the cameras from anywhere in the world. We can also offer a remote backup service where camera images can be backed up to our data center for safe keeping.
